Homework due 9/11
Today we had an amazing discussion about reparations for the African American community. Again, I was very impressed with your critical thinking and thought processes.
I would like you to imagine that you are on a Congressional Committee that has been established to explore the idea of reparations for the African American community. As discussed, payment to individual African American citizens does raise numerous obstacles. Repayment of the community as a whole would have its own challenges as well. This is where you will try to create a hypothetical plan of action for this repayment.
Requirements: Please prepare this as a proposal.
A. A description of your plan for the community as a whole.
B. Who would implement this plan into the communities? (i.e. workers needed)
C. What would be needed for this plan to succeed? (i.e. how much money, political/public support)
D. How will the United States pay for this plan to achieve success?
Work should be typed, 12pt. font, Times New Roman, and 1.5 space.
Each section should be marked.
This will be assessed as a Quiz grade.
Rubric:
A - Outstanding work, over an beyond the requirements, neat, shows critical thinking/analysis
B - Good work, neat, shows critical thinking
C - Satisfactory/average work, some elements are weak, lacks full critical thinking
D - Poor work, elements are not present, not neat, no critical thinking
I look forward to receiving these on Thursday. If there are questions, please email me.
